The food was really good, and the place had a nice vibe — even on a Monday around 10 AM, it was busy enough that we had to wait about 10 minutes and ended up sitting at the bar. Unfortunately, the service brought the experience down. The older waitress was sassy at first in a way we laughed off, but it kept going and eventually felt more rude than playful. I was just visiting Long Island, so I likely won’t be back anyway, but that interaction is what stuck with me most from the visit. Again, food was solid and the place was clearly popular — just not the kind of service I’d want to deal with again.

Thomas's Ham & Eggery is unique, I guess it has a following. Overall I gave this restaurant only 4 stars. This is because once you walk past the intimidating long lines outside and the over crowded parking lot, you'll come to realize just like i did that in some restaurants there is Quality and Tranquility, and there is HYPE. The Hype here is seeing long lines. I ordered a spinach feta cheese omelette with home fries (sliced potatoes) and buttered rye toast. I liked the presentation of my meal which came in a steel frying pan and separate plate for my toast. *My meal was actually good, but I am not sure if my omelette had feta cheese in it? I honestly didn't see any cheese ? The waitress poured coffee after coffee for me but still tasted like water. They are very attentive to coffee refills but at the cost of a watered down version?, NO THANKS. I would like to recommend that if you get a seat at the counter instead of a table you will bypass the long ridiculous lines. That is exactly what I did and the service was actually faster and more attentive. PARKING: Now that can be an issue so take the side streets like Mitchell Avenue and Landsdown Avenue & read the parking signs. Obviously the residents don't want you to park on their streets, but on the weekend you are GOOD . BATHROOMS: looked dated and were separated by a woman's and a men's which can only occupy one at a time. All in all I would have to say that this restaurant does a decent job in getting you to your food faster only because they are a bit smaller in stature than their counterparts larger more comfortable diners. I personally didn't like the exacerbated lines and the irritating parking. I just want to sit and eat with friends without all the HYPE. *THE REVIEW GURU Long Island NY

We grew up going to diner for late night meals and breakfast in high school and college years. There are not that many good diners around and it was so refreshing to go Thomas Ham & Eggery Diner to bring back old memories. Ham steak with over medium eggs with homemade hash brown was cooked as I remember. My friend’s BLT was just perfect. Toasted bread, crispy lettuce and bacon. Staff were efficient and friendly. Bus staff never make the coffee mug empty. Constantly go around to refill the coffee. Wait can be pretty long but it is worth waiting!

So glad we found this place! We're visiting the area dropping our daughter off at university. Lived on Long Island for 4 years in the 90s and know Dinera are a must. This place did not disappoint. Came for breakfast and got there just in time. Got seated immediately at the counter in front of a beautiful display of (in house made?) cookies, pastries and pies. Great breakfast selection. The kitchen is small, but it is all coordinated chaos. I loved watching the restaurant ballet in action. Food was quick, hot and good. Service was friendly. Locals know to go here and i encourage anyone visiting to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Thomas's Diner has that traditional old school diner feel to it but more importantly some darn good food. My wife suggested that we stop in while shopping in the area and we were not disappointed. The place was pretty busy but we were seated after a short wait. The wife ordered an egg sandwich which was one of the best we ever had. I ordered a Bacon and Swiss Omelette which was served in a skillet and really good. A side order of some delicious pancakes and we left really happy & full.

Good to experience once. Charming diner, inside and out. Nice ambiance and servers were nice. But that's everything that was good. I went little before noon on a regular week day. Place was packed and people were lining up. There's a free parking lot but was impossible to find a spot. Food was mediocre at best (decent portion). Everything tasted dry(?) to my party and made it hard to swallow. Needed to keep refilling coffee to get it down, but the service was a bit slow and was hard to flag a server down to get coffee refills or napkin. Wasn't terrible experience in general. It was a good "one time experience" spot, but likely won't return.
